In my opinion. You can go for the Windows Reset option, but if you want even more thoroughness, you can use DiskPart through Command Prompt.
Here's how to to secure erase hard drive on Windows 10 by using Windows Reset :
- Hit Windows Key + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security.
- Click on Recovery on the left sidebar.
- Under “Reset this PC,” click on Get started.
- Choose Remove everything. This will wipe all your files and apps. Select Remove files and clean the drive for a more thorough wipe.
Tip: This option may take a while, but it’s the best way to go if you want to ensure nothing is recoverable.
