How to play an MP3 file without audio output

I am embarking on the task of organizing over 1,000 music files by renaming them and updating their artist information. To accomplish this, I plan to play the files through my computer speakers so that a Google Chrome Extension can recognize the songs. Once I have the list of songs and their corresponding details, I will proceed with renaming the files and editing the metadata. However, rather than listening to the music, my primary goal is to efficiently organize the files and subsequently transfer them to my cellphone once the corrections are complete.

  • Simply lower your system volume to 0% before playing the files. This is the easiest way but still involves the system thinking sound is playing.
