Storage Manager is the simplest, safest, and most beginner-friendly way to find large files on Mac to delete. It requires no technical knowledge, no downloads. The list appears automatically, sorted with the biggest file at the top. You just look, decide, and drag to the Trash.
Follow these steps exactly if you want to find large files on Mac to delete:
- Look at the very top-left corner of your screen. You will see a small Apple logo. Click on it.
- A menu drops down. Click on System Settings.
- On the left side of the System Settings window, you will see several options. Look for General and click it.
- In the General menu, click on Storage. You will now see a colored bar showing what your storage is being used for.
- Next to each category, there is a small letter "i" inside a circle. Click the "i" next to Documents. This is where your personal files live — your downloads, desktop items, and documents.
- A new window opens. You will see several options like "Downloads," "Desktop," and "Large Files." Click on "Large Files."
