How to convert m4a to m4r on Windows 10?
If you are looking for a local replacement tool in Windows 10, the Windows Media Player that comes with it is a good choice. It is especially suitable for local playback of audio and video files only, and is extremely easy to use, even for novice computer users. This is one of the best choices to convert .m4a to .m4r on Windows.
However, Windows Media Player doesn't really convert file formats, and the format of the files played back by it stays the same. This means that converted files may not be recognized by all programs due to formatting issues, which can lead to compatibility problems when using cross-platform or other specific software. At the same time, the player does not provide the function to adjust the audio content.
Step 1: Press Windows + S, type Windows Media Player and press Enter to open it.
Step 2: Click File in the upper left corner (not shown, press Alt to show the menu), navigate to the M4A file location select the file, and click Open.
Step 3: Click Play to make sure the file is playing properly.
Step 4: In Windows Media Player, right-click the file and select Open File Location File Explorer to open the directory where the file is located.
Step 5: Right-click the M4A file, select Rename to change the extension from .m4a to .m4r . Press Enter, a warning pops up, tap Yes.
Step 6: Double-click the m4r file to make sure it is still playable
