How risky would it be to keep on using windows 10 after October 2025 ?

I have a 10 year old Dell XPS. Yes, it’s getting old and the fans sound like a Boeing taking off, but it still works just fine. I’m reluctant to get a new laptop, mostly because of how expensive it will be. But my processor is not supported by Windows 11, so I might just be forced to. I’m just not sure I understand what the end of Windows 10 will entail. Is it still viable to keep on working with it ? Or would it just be plainly reckless ?

It’s not immediately reckless to continue using Windows 10 now, but by October 2025, it becomes increasingly risky in terms of security and compatibility. Planning ahead—whether by upgrading hardware, switching OS, or replacing the device—is the best approach to avoid potential problems.
