A friend asked me to record a simple video explanation. I wanted to use Xbox Game Bar, but found that it does not support webcam recording. Later, I found that the "Camera" application that comes with Windows 10 can actually record screen on Windows 10 with sound. It's quite convenient!
- Search "Camera" directly in the Start menu and click it.
- The default mode is photo mode. Click the camera icon on the right to switch to video mode.
- Check whether the microphone is turned on in the **Settings (⚙️)** in the upper right corner to make sure that the sound can be recorded.
- Click the red record button and it will start recording. It can record the webcam screen + sound!
- After recording, click Stop, and the video will be automatically saved in the "Video → Camera Roll" folder.
This method is suitable for recording content with a webcam, such as remote meetings, tutorials, or recording yourself speaking. I tried using it to record screen on Windows 10 with sound, but it can only record the webcam, not the entire screen, so if you want to record the screen + sound, you still have to use Xbox Game Bar or PowerPoint to record the screen.
Overall, the "Camera" app is a backup solution, especially when you just need to record the webcam, you can use it directly without installing other software
