How do I record a meeting on my computer from Windows 10?
One way to use PowerShell is to programmatically launch built-in Windows apps that can record. For example, you can use a PowerShell script to open the Voice Recorder app, which is ideal for how to record a meeting on my computer.
A script can be as simple as:
powershell
Start-Process explorer.exe shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.WindowsSoundRecorder_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App
When it comes how to record a meeting on my computer. This command opens the Voice Recorder app, where you would manually start and stop the recording . Similarly, for screen recording, you can use PowerShell to re-register or troubleshoot the Xbox Game Bar (which uses Windows + Alt + R to record), but the script itself doesn't do the recording.
As an interesting alternative, you can actually write a PowerShell script that does the audio recording itself using the Register-ObjectEvent command.
- How it works: The script uses a .NET library called NAudio to access your microphone. It then uses Register-ObjectEvent to listen for the DataAvailable event, which is triggered whenever new audio is captured. When this event happens, the script writes that audio data directly to a file.
- This is a demonstration of Register-ObjectEvent as a tool for real-time data handling.
