How do I find Windows 10 product key without cmd?
AlejandroSmith Unlike a Retail key, which can be transferred to another PC if you deactivate it on the first, an OEM key is tied to the hardware (specifically the motherboard) of the device. If you change the motherboard, the OEM key will likely no longer work, requiring a new Windows license.
For OEM licenses embedded in the system’s firmware, you may not see a sticker with the key, but the system detects it automatically during reinstallation. Tools like Product Key Finder can retrieve it, or you can find Windows 10 product key with cmd through Command Prompt with:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
OEM keys are cost-effective but with restricted flexibility compared to Retail licenses, making them ideal for pre-built systems meant for long-term use without hardware changes.
