How to extend C drive in Windows 10 without formatting? Here are the steps:
- First off, open up File Explorer, right-click on “This PC,” and select “Manage.” Then, go to “Disk Management” on the left side. Here, you can see all your disks and partitions. Check if there's any unallocated space next to your C drive.
- If there's no unallocated space, you might need to shrink an adjacent partition (usually D or E) to create some free space. Right-click on that drive (like D drive), and click “Shrink Volume.” Choose how much space you want to shrink. Just make sure you don't take away too much if you still want to keep files on that drive.
- Now that you have some unallocated space, right-click on your C drive and select “Extend Volume.” This will open a wizard to help you through the process. Just follow the prompts, and it'll let you choose how much of the unallocated space you want to add to C drive.
- After you finish the wizard, your C drive should get that extra space. You can check by looking at the properties of the C drive again.
