How can I recover permanently deleted files on Windows 10?
- Aug 26, 2024
I totally get the frustration of accidentally deleting important files—I’ve been there! The good news is, it’s not the end of the world.
I’ve personally used Aiesesoft Data Recovery, and it worked like magic to recover permanently deleted files.
I followed this tutorial: (worked for me)

It’s super easy to use, scans your drive thoroughly, and supports a wide range of file types. Just install it, select the drive to scan, and let it do its thing. It’s like a lifesaver when you think all hope is lost. Give it a try—you won’t regret it!
The good news is that in many cases, those files aren’t truly “gone” — they’re just marked as free space by Windows, and with the right tools, you still have a solid chance to recover them.
First, if you had File History or system restore points enabled, it’s worth checking whether a previous version of the folder exists. Just right-click on the folder where the files were stored and choose “Restore previous versions.”

But if that doesn’t work — and especially if no backup was made — your best option is to use data recovery software. Microsoft created a free file recovery tool, but its command-line interface can be a bit scary for users who aren't very tech-savvy.
