How can I identify which Dell laptop component is causing random freezes?
My Dell laptop experiences random freezes where everything stops responding for 5-10 seconds before resuming normally, and this happens during both light and heavy tasks without any error messages. I have already updated drivers and run Dell diagnostics which found no issues, so I need help identifying which specific hardware component like the SSD, RAM, or motherboard is causing these intermittent freezes.

The fact that your system recovers after a few seconds points to a temporary bottleneck rather than a catastrophic hardware failure.
The 5–10 second pauses do not identify SSD, RAM, or motherboard failure, especially because they occur under light and heavy use and Dell’s basic diagnostics passed. Treat this as a data-collection problem before replacing parts. Record each freeze time and whether pointer, audio, keyboard, network, and disk activity also stop. After the next freeze and recovery, review System and Application event logs around that time for disk, storage-controller, display-driver, WHEA, or application errors. Run perfmon /report while the machine is healthy and save the report. Update BIOS, chipset, storage, graphics, and network drivers only from Dell’s support page for the precise model, then retest one change at a time. A clean boot can separate third-party software from Windows and hardware. If freezes continue without a clear event, collect a Performance Monitor trace or manufacturer-supported memory and storage test. A WHEA, disk, or diagnostic failure should drive warranty or hardware service.
