How can I get my Windows 10 22H2 PC registered for the Windows 10 ESU Program?
Hi Windows dev. support team,
today I´ve been told by the Microsoft support help desk that you guys can help me in getting my Windows 10 22H2 PC registered for the Windows 10 ESU Program.
Unfortunately until now, no registration link has appeared under ...Update & Security/Windows Update.
What do you need know to enable my PC so that I can officially register it for this program?
Please, get in touch with me asap.
Thanks upfront for your assistance in that matter,
Best,
--Reinhold

Hey Reinhold — the ESU (Extended Security Updates) program for Windows 10 isn’t something you manually “register” for via Windows Update. It’s tied to your licensing type.
If you’re a business or organization, you’ll need to buy ESU licenses through Microsoft Volume Licensing or a Cloud Solution Provider. If you’re just using a personal PC, you’ll get the ESU offer automatically once Microsoft opens it up in Windows Update — it hasn’t rolled out to everyone yet.

I have the correct version of Windows (22H2) and the proper update from Nov. 2024 (KB5046613) per Google AI. I did not receive an invitation (first I've heard of it) but Google AI says there should be an enroll button on my windows update page. There's not.

What's with all this cloak and dagger nonsense from Microsoft about extending the security updates?
It should be a straightforward process for everyone who wants to access the ESU.

Of the 5 Windows 10 PCs that I own only 2 received the invitation to join the ESU program. After trying all sorts of things (turning location on/off, switching between a Local account and Microsoft account login, etc, etc ...) I came across information on 4 commands to enter in the Command window (CMD in Administrator mode) that fixed the problem for me. It worked :-) After entering the first 3 commands, rebooting, and then entering a 4th command, the offer to register for the ESU program appeared on the Windows Update page. I was able to add all my 5 computers. I chose the option to pay $30 USD + taxes (covers up to 10 computers that you own) but the two free options look ok too. Here's the site where I found the instructions I used ... but there are other websites that offer the same info: https://tips2fix.com/windows-10-esu-enrollment-not-showing-heres-the-quick-fix/ If you're not comfortable entering commands in a Windows Command window you might ask a geeky friend for help. I hope this helps 🙂

I too am missing the ESU option in the Windows Update screen. I am an administrator and have all updates installed. I was referred by the Support Chat to the Tech Community to ask about this. Is there any answer on when we should expect to see the enrollment option?

Hi have you got the ESU update available now. If not let me know as there a few measures you can take that may help. I am no expert as it has taken me about 2 days to try and access the update and have eventually been succesful and got the ESU update for no cost.

I, too, am wondering this. I saw Forbes article yesterday that stated that KB5063709 would provide the link to enroll in ESU. After installing it and restarting several times the past couple of days, I still fail to see the link on my Windows Update page. A chat person (bot?) in the Live Chat that Microsoft offers for support told me that the rollout is gradual. He(?) implied that some users still might not see the link until October and completely dismissed the idea that KB5063709 had anything to do with this.
Who knows?
😠

I have had same experience: KB5063709 does not solve the problem.
