How can I Fix my iPhone is disabled and says connect to iTunes
Hi all,
I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My iPhone is disabled and now shows the message "connect to iTunes." I am not very familiar with iPhone recovery steps, so I am not sure what this message means or what I should do next.
I would appreciate clear, step-by-step advice for fixing iPhone is disabled and says connect to iTunes without losing data? Can this be fixed by connecting the iPhone to a Windows PC with iTunes, or does it require a full reset? I am also trying to understand whether there is any way to keep my data, or if everything on the phone will be erased as part of the process.

This is an Apple security feature. When someone enters the wrong passcode 10 times in a row, you can get the iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes error, the iPhone locks itself to protect your information. The only way to unlock it is to erase the iPhone completely and then restore your data from a backup.
What you'll need:
A Windows PC with the latest version of iTunes installed
A Lightning cable (original or MFi certified recommended)
Your Apple ID and password (required to turn off Activation Lock after erasing)
A backup (iCloud or local) if you want to recover your data after the fix
If you're seeing the message "iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes," it means your iPhone has been locked due to multiple incorrect passcode attempts. To fix this issue, you can try several troubleshooting steps:
First, try using a different Lightning cable or USB port, preferably directly connected to your computer rather than through a USB hub. Sometimes, faulty or incompatible cables and ports can prevent proper communication between your iPhone and iTunes.
Next, ensure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. Outdated software can cause connectivity issues, so updating iTunes can often resolve the problem.
Then, check the Device Manager on your PC. Look for "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under the list of USB devices. If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to it, that indicates a driver problem. In this case, you should reinstall the driver to restore proper connection.

Fixppo is a third-party desktop tool designed to bypass Apple's standard restore process and fix a disabled iPhone without relying on iTunes. It is particularly marketable because its "Standard Mode" can attempt to repair many common iOS crashes or boot loops while preserving your data. However, it must be noted that for the specific "iPhone is disabled" scenario, the software's "Advanced Mode" is required, which will completely erase the device just like iTunes.
To fix iPhone is disabled and stuck on connect to iTunes, this tool will automatically detect your model and prompt you to download the necessary iOS firmware (a file roughly 5GB in size).
Once it's downloaded, the software will erase the passcode and install a clean iOS operating system.
For me, it is a legitimate alternative for users who find iTunes complicated or want a guided, user-friendly interface to recover a disabled device.

⚠️ Important Notes
- Data Loss is Unavoidable: There is no free method to unlock a disabled iPhone without erasing its data . This is an Apple security feature to protect your information.
- Backup is Key: After you restore your iPhone, you can get your data back only if you have a backup (either on iCloud or your computer) . If you never backed up, your personal data will be lost.
- Apple ID Activation Lock: After erasing your iPhone, you will need to enter the Apple ID and password that were previously used on the device to turn off Activation Lock and finish the setup . Make sure you know these credentials.
If you see the message "iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes," it means your iPhone has been locked due to multiple incorrect passcode attempts. To fix this issue using Finder on a Mac (or iTunes on Windows), follow these steps:

On your Mac, open Finder. Your iPhone should appear in the sidebar under "Locations."
2. Locate the Message:
Finder will show a message saying that your iPhone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored.
3. Choose Restore:

4. Wait for the Process to Complete:

Using Finder to fix the "iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes" error is effective, especially on Macs with macOS Catalina or later, where iTunes has been replaced with Finder for device management.

Please pay attention to the restore trick when iPhone is disabled and connect to iTunes.
It erases absolutely everything. The restore process wipes your iPhone completely clean, reinstalling iOS as new. If you've never made a backup to this computer or iCloud, all your photos, messages, notes, app data, and settings are permanently gone with zero chance of recovery.
You absolutely need a backup to get your data back. The only way to recover your information after the restore is if you previously synced with that specific computer or backed up to iCloud. If this is your first time connecting the iPhone to the computer you're using, no backup exists there, and your hope rests entirely on whether you enabled iCloud backups before the device became disabled.
It can be a technical hassle. The process requires putting the iPhone into recovery mode with precise button timing, which some find tricky. You're also tethered to a computer long enough for it to download a full iOS file (several gigabytes), so an unstable internet connection or USB cable can cause frustrating failures mid-restore.

2. Click "All Devices" at the top and select your disabled iPhone from the list .
3. Click "Erase iPhone" .
4. Your iPhone will be wiped clean, including the passcode. Once erased, you can set it up as new or restore from a backup .
