How can I bulk convert heic to jpeg on Windows 11?
All the photos on my iPhone are saved in .HEIC image format. Never noticed about this until I connected the iPhone to my Windows 10 PC. Unfortunately, I can't edit or open heic images from Windows 10 as the image format is not supported by the Photos app.
I want to know what is the best way to bulk convert heic to jpeg on Windows 10 as I have roughly 700 heic images to be converted.
By the way, online heic to jpeg converter is not fine for me! Let me know if there are any good options out there for Windows users.

After reading the content of the post I thought I could utilize the Photos app that comes with Windows 10, along with the HEIF image extension, to convert heic to jpeg format to solve the problem raised in the post. By doing in this way, no need to install any heic to jpeg converter on your Windows 11/10 PC.
First, open the Microsoft Store and search for HEIF Image Extensions, click 'Get Installed'.Then find the HEIC file, double-click the file, automatically open in the photo application, click the upper right corner "..." (more options), in the save file, click the "Save" button. Now, select JPEG (*.jpg) as the output format, name the file and save it to C:\Pictures.
Finally, open the saved JPEG file and check the image quality and contents.
Check if the file extension is “.jpg”.
It's very easy to convert HEIC to JPEG format with the HEIF image extension in the Photos app that comes with Windows 10. Users can easily complete the format conversion in just a few simple steps, which is no difficulty for ordinary users to get started. Moreover, as a natively built-in feature, the combination has excellent stability, so you don't need to worry about compatibility issues in the process, and you can use it with peace of mind.

First off, quality loss can be a concern. HEIC is pretty nifty because it retains better image quality while compressing files. When you convert HEIC to JPEG, which is a lossy format, you might notice a dip in quality—especially if you're a stickler for those fine details. If you're converting for social media or sharing with friends, it’s probably not a biggie, but if you’re planning to print or keep those memories forever, it could be a bummer.
Then there's the whole file size issue. JPEGs can be bigger than HEIC files, depending on the settings you use. So, if you're working with a ton of photos, your storage can fill up faster than you expect. Trust me, I’ve had to clear my camera roll way too many times because I wasn't paying attention!
Another thing is the extra step involved in your workflow. If you're used to just pulling up your photos without a hassle, having to convert HEIC to JPEG every time can be a bit of a drag. And let’s be honest, if you’re in a hurry to share that epic sunset pic, waiting for a conversion isn’t ideal.
Lastly, software compatibility could throw a wrench in the works. Not every app handles JPEGs the same way. Sometimes you might face weird quirks or formatting issues, making it a little annoying if you’re trying to edit or share those images right after converting.

Step 2. Tap to select files or drag and drop files, support uploading multiple files at a time, you should note that the maximum number of files is 100.
Step 3. The default output is JPEG, you can choose to keep the EXIF data and also adjust the DPI or size.
Step 4. Tap Convert, wait for the conversion to complete and then tap Download if it is a batch conversion, then tap 'Download All'. Finally, open the JPEG file and make sure the image is clear.

1. You can enable the HEIC image extension, which allows Windows to read HEIC images directly. This won't convert them into JPEGs but will let you view them in other applications.
- Go to the Microsoft Store and search for "HEIF Image Extensions."
- Install the app.
- After installation, you should be able to view HEIC images in various applications.
2. As i know. C0pyTrans HEIC is a free tool that allows you to view and convert HEIC to JPEG.
- Download CopyTrans HEIC for Windows from the official website.
- Install the software.
- Once installed, you can convert HEIC files by right-clicking on them and choosing "Convert HEIC to JPEG."
- You can also drag and drop multiple HEIC files for batch conversion.
3. XnC0nvert is a versatile image converter that supports various formats, including batch conversion.
- Download XnC0nvert from the official website.
- Install and launch the application.
- Drag and drop your HEIC files into the tool.
- Set the "Output" format to JPEG.
- Choose the output directory and start the process.
Each of these methods offers a free way to convert HEIC to JPEG in bulk on Windows. Depending on your needs and preferences, you can select any of these options to quickly and efficiently convert your HEIC files.

I think iMaazing HEIC to JPEG converter can meet your requirements as it is a freeware, no network is needed, it can be run locally and safely, it also supports batch processing of pictures to meet the needs of daily picture processing.
How to convert heic to jpeg on Windows 10:
1. Visit the official website and follow the prompts to install it.
2. Open the software and drag and drop HEIC files into the window, or click Add Files to select multiple files.
3. Choose JPEG as the output format, you can choose whether to keep the EXIF data or not, and then choose the downloaded folder.
4. Tap Convert, wait for the completion of the output folder, you can open the output folder, check the JPEG files.
Disadvantages:
About 20MB of programs need to be installed before use, only format conversion can be performed, such as cropping, color mixing, adding text and other common image editing operations can not be completed.
In batch processing, not only do you have to manually select files one by one, but you also need to organize the files in advance to ensure the conversion effect, which makes the operation more cumbersome and complicated and increases the workload of users.

In a nutshell, while online heic to jpeg converter can definitely do the job, they come with their own set of headaches and risks. If it’s just a couple of files, it might work out fine, but for larger projects or stuff with high personal value, I’d recommend sticking to software/web apps that run locally on your computer. When you’re uploading your photos to some random website, you're basically handing over your images to strangers on the internet. If those pics are of family events, vacations, or anything you don’t want floating around online, it could be a little sketchy. I’d rather not take any risks with my personal stuff, you know?
With online heic to jpeg converter, you’ll need a stable internet connection to upload your heic files and download the converted jpegs. If your connection is slow or flaky (maybe you live in a place with spotty service), it can be a real hassle. Plus, if the file size is big, good luck waiting around forever!

Converting HEIC to JPEG on a Windows computer is pretty straightforward:
1: Using the Photos App- Open Your HEIC File: Double-click on the HEIC file, and it should open automatically in the Photos app.
- If it doesn’t, right-click the file, choose "Open with," and select "Photos."
- Export the Image: Once the image is open, just click on the three dots (you know, the "more" button) in the top-right corner. From there, choose “Save As”.
- Select JPEG Format: In the "Save as type" dropdown, select JPEG. Choose your save location, give it a name if you want, and hit "Save."
You’ve got your HEIC converted to JPEG without downloading any extra software.
2. Using an Online Converter
If you're not feeling the Photos app vibe or have a bunch of files to convert, online converters are super handy.- Pick a Converter: Go to a website like Zamzer, CloudC0nvert, or HEICt0JPEG, They’re all pretty user-friendly.
- Upload Your HEIC Files: Click on the upload button, select your HEIC files, and then choose JPEG as the output format.
- Convert HEIC to JPEG and Download: Hit that Convert button and just wait a few moments. Once it’s done, download your JPEG files. Easy peasy!
3. Using a Free Software
If you're into downloading programs, you could grab something like IrfanViaw. Here’s how:- Download and Install: Go to the IrfanViaw website and download it. Make sure to grab the additional plugins, because HEIC needs those!
- Open Your HEIC Files: Launch IrfanViaw, then open your HEIC files.
- Save As JPEG: Click on "File" and then “Save As” to choose JPEG. Select your destination and you're all set!
Honestly, it really depends on your preference. The built-in Photos app is super convenient if you’re just handling a couple of files. But if you’ve got a bunch to convert HEIC to JPEG, online tools or software like IrfanViaw can save you time. Just remember that online converters need you to upload your files to their servers, so if your pics are super private, better stick to the offline methods.
