How can I add text to image in windows with the same font?
Using Google Fonts to add text to image on a Windows PC involves a simple two-step process. First, you download and install the font you want. Then, you use a compatible image editing program to place the text on your picture. Since Google Fonts are completely free and open-source, this method costs you nothing .
Step 1: Download and Install Google Fonts on Windows
- Browse and Select a Font
- Download the Font Family
- Extract the Font Files
- Install the Font
Step 2: Add Text to Image Using Your New Font
Once the Google Font is installed, you can add text to an image using any software that supports custom fonts. Using Microsoft PowerPoint (Easiest for Beginners):
- PowerPoint is an underrated tool for basic image creation.
- Insert your image (Insert > Pictures).
- Add a text box (Insert > Text Box).
- Type your text, highlight it, and find your newly installed Google Font in the font dropdown menu on the "Home" tab.
- Once you are happy with the design, you can save the slide as a picture.
While Google Fonts are fantastic and free, it is worth noting that some of them were designed primarily for use on websites. Because of this, a few fonts may lack kerning information, which is the fine-tuned spacing between specific character pairs (like "WA" or "To"). This is rarely an issue for headlines or short lines of text, but if you are using a font for a longer paragraph and the spacing looks slightly off, this could be the reason.
