Driver conflicts and hardware malfunctions
You need to determine whether the affected devices share a Windows driver conflict or are failing physically. Start in Device Manager and record each device’s status and error code rather than updating everything at once. Check Reliability Monitor and Event Viewer around the failure time for device, Plug and Play, Kernel-PnP, or driver-service events. Install Windows updates, including applicable optional drivers, and then use the manufacturer’s supported driver. If the fault began after an update, use Roll Back Driver. Otherwise uninstall only the affected device, restart, and let Windows detect it again. Perform a clean boot to identify interfering third-party utilities or filter drivers. Test the device on another port and, where possible, another computer. A device that also fails in firmware diagnostics or on another computer is more likely defective hardware.
