Does Windows10 still have advantages?

I'm thinking about installing the best operating system for my mom's computer, is Windows10 still an advantage?

Windows 11 seems totally beneficial to me as it is faster and more reliable. However, if your Mother is used to W10, I do remember my own transition to 11 involved quite a learning curve due to layout etc.

  • Going with Windows 11 is beneficial IMO. Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025.

Mid-October is still 8 months away and giving the many issues ordinary users still experience with Win 11, I'd say Win 10 is better for his mom.
But Wistrict has most likely found a solution by now.

Windows 10 offers an interface that is generally familiar to users who have used previous versions of Windows. It has a Start Menu, taskbar, and desktop similar to Windows 7 and 8, which can create a smoother experience for those who are accustomed to Windows.

Depending on the specifications of your mom's computer, Windows 11 may provide better performance optimizations, but if the hardware is not up to par with Windows 11's requirements, Windows 10 may be a better fit.

Windows 11 and its available updates have many issues and errors, I suggest Windows 10 for now.

Windows 10 features a layout and interface that has been familiar to users since its release in 2015. For someone like your mother, who might be accustomed to this layout, it could provide a more user-friendly experience.
