Does Windows 10 have a desktop photo gallery widget?
I’m looking for a photo carousel widget that can be placed on the desktop. It needs to allow manual photo switching and start automatically when the device boots up. I originally wanted to use such a widget to create a photo calendar, but after trying several highly-rated options, I found that they all require setting an automatic playback interval and don’t allow manual clicking. I also tried modifying a note-taking app for this purpose, but wasn’t successful. Could you recommend any widgets or methods that meet these requirements? Thanks!

Hello Eorku,
Windows 10 does not include a built-in desktop photo gallery widget with manual image navigation.
The closest built-in feature is the desktop slideshow, but it automatically rotates wallpapers and does not provide on-screen controls for manually switching between images.
If you've already tried several widget applications and found that they require automatic playback, you may need to look at third-party desktop customization tools. Another option could be a lightweight photo viewer configured to start automatically with Windows and remain open on the desktop.
Could you clarify whether you want the photos to appear as an actual desktop widget, or would a small always-on-top window be acceptable? That may help identify a more suitable solution.
