You can execute https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon
It is an applciation that you can check all the process of your windows. you can create a filter to show the application that download and upload. It will point to IP and what is the .exe sending/receiving.

Installing an external application with the highest privileges - I think it is pointless for personal computers that do not act as a workstation!

It is possible, and no t necessary "install" procmon, it will run on demmand to monitor. it is good for personal computer users to understang the flow of information. is very graphical and the online doc give a lot of information.
