Copilot edge error 12007 pwahelper.exe
Hey I got an update for windows that put a copilot icon on my taskbar. I click it and get this error message. I searched the error and it said to reinstall edge which did nothing. Why doesn't this work?

Go to the file path and check if the pwahelper.exe is there. Also try to run it as adiministrator with right click.

Hi everyone,
Since early August 2025, I'm seeing the error "Something went wrong. Try reconnecting." when I use Copilot in the Edge sidebar — even though the microphone loads and looks active.
✅ What I've already tried:
Full Edge reset
Reconnected all apps
Disabled extensions & VPN
Enabled "Context clues"
Opened neutral sites like Wikipedia
Despite all this, the issue persists. I believe it’s a bug in Microsoft Edge or Copilot. Anyone else having this problem or found a workaround?
Thanks! —George

Reinstall Edge and it should fix the issue.

Your firewall or antivirus may block certain connections. Check to see if Edge is being blocked. You can try temporarily disabling your antivirus/firewall to see if that resolves the issue (but remember to enable it afterward).

Sometimes, outdated cache or cookies can cause issues. Open Edge, go to the settings (click on the three dots in the corner), navigate to Privacy, search, and services, and look for the option to clear browsing data. Choose to clear the cache and cookies.
