Cannot update due to app that was never installed
Trying to update Windows, and get msg
What needs your attention
The following things need your attention to continue the installation and keep your Windows settings, personal files and apps.
It then lists VirtualBox with note that it "isn't compatible with Windows 10"
1. VirtualBox has not been installed on this PC, so it can't be uninstalled.
2. We tried installing and uninstalling VirtualBox to see if that would clear it up, but that didn't work. We continue to get the same msg.
We are at a loss why we are getting this message and what do to fix it.

daedmunds Thanks. This is why I am not a fan of 3rd party antiviruses. The file is from Microsoft although a command executer.
Nevertheless, let us try something else. Do you remember installing any Emulator like Bluestacks?

We removed the BitDefender software and still had the issue. I ran the script that you suggest. I am attaching a copy of the output.I am not sure what to do with this information.

SumitDhiman I posted (as attachment) the results of running the batch file. Have you had a chance to look at it?
perform a clean install of your OS.

Hello daedmunds,
Can you confirm us, the VirtualBox was ever installed on the system.
If that's true, I believe the application files may still remain on the system and this is causing the problem. Check in the program files, or even better, use search to locate, if there are any VirtualBox files still present on system.
Regards.
I'd suggest using one of the recovery methods in Windows 10:
and you also have the option to clean install Windows 10 and get rid of any program leftover automatically:
