alternative desktop from MS windows

I have win10 pro usual boring desktop so i downloaded from steam the app "Wallpaper Engine"... but i wish i knew about a diferent desktop visual to microsoft windows (you can only personalise the wallpaper)

I saw pics of a cool minimalist pc desktop with huge clock timer in the middle and in the screen corner all infos about component temperatures and disc space... what was that?
