A virtual machine running Windows 10 is faster than a physical machine with the same configuration.

With identical i5-5200U processors and 4GB RAM configurations, Windows 10 runs smoothly in a Linux virtual machine host, while the physical machine (with Windows 10 installed directly) frequently experiences lag due to swap file activity. Both systems were installed using the same image. What is the fundamental cause of this performance discrepancy?

Background processes, drivers, or hardware performance bottlenecks on the physical machine have led to more frequent paging file swapping.
