I’d reset the Windows Update path before trying again. Start with the Windows Update troubleshooter, confirm you have plenty of free disk space, and disconnect nonessential USB devices during the update.
Then check Update History for the KB number and error code. If Windows Update keeps looping, try downloading that same KB from the Microsoft Update Catalog and installing it manually. If it still rolls back, Event Viewer and the setup/update logs should show whether it is failing on drivers, servicing stack, disk space, or corruption.
