Multi-level response options for a single Likert-scale item
I would like to explore whether Glint allows configuring a single survey statement with multiple sub-responses at different organizational levels, each using the same Likert scale.
For example:
Statement:
“In my experience, collaboration is effective.”
Response requested at multiple levels:
At the organization level (1–5 Likert scale)
At the division/department level (1–5 Likert scale)
At the team level (1–5 Likert scale)
In other words, instead of creating three separate items, is it possible to structure one statement with sub-questions (or nested response options) tied to different organizational levels, all using the same agreement scale?

At this time, Viva Glint does not support configuring a single survey item with multiple nested or sub‑responses tied to different organizational levels using the same Likert scale.
In Glint, each survey item is designed to have one referent (for example, the organization, leadership, manager, team, or role). Because of this, it isn’t possible to take one statement and collect separate ratings for the organization, department, and team within a single item.
To capture feedback at multiple levels, the supported approach is to create separate items, each clearly anchored to its intended level (for example, “Across the organization…”, “Within my department…”, “On my immediate team…”), all using the same agreement scale. This ensures the data remains clear, reportable, and analytically sound.
While this does require multiple items, it aligns with how Glint structures survey questions, reporting, and trend analysis, and avoids ambiguity in how responses are interpreted.
