Lightweight Management in Viva Engage still doesn't appear to be available
I recently stumbled upon this resource:
Topics lightweight management in Viva Engage - Microsoft Topics | Microsoft Learn
Our M365 users use Viva Engage and I was interested in taking a look at the light-weight management capabilities of Topics since we don't plan to purchase stand-alone Viva licenses at this time.
I currently have the following roles:
- SharePoint Administrator
- Teams Administrator
- Yammer Administrator
- Knowledge Administrator
However, when I go to the following [after entering our domain], I still can't get access URL: https://your-domain.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/TopicsManagement.aspx
I still get the following message....does anyone know why?
Thanks!
- This was something that was rolling out to all customers and was a thin version of Viva Topics. In light of last week's announcement of the retirement of Viva Topics, the Viva Engage team is going to have to pivot - but they haven't announced anything yet.

Thanks for the info, KevinCrossman. This is exactly why we're not a fan of being early adopters. The number of changes that occur on a daily basis is so overwhelming anymore.

So, for Viva Engage, it looks like topics will revert back to the old process...not ideal :(.
