Large Size Printing Fails
Hi, Everytime when I try to print a page with more than 5MB (like a picture), it will just print out an empty page. Tried multiple printers but no luck. Can someone help? Thank you!

How are your printers registered? Are you using Universal Print connector or printers are Universal Print ready?

Printers are Universal Print ready. Are you able to print one >10MB with color?

Microsoft
AM1002 yes.
Here are the steps you should be thinking about:
- On Windows device itself (if you are printing from Windows device) - Under printer settings, there is an option to store the spooled file. You can use this option. Check below for steps on how to view the spooled file.
- Windows then converts XPS to printer specific PDL. Depending on the printer you are using, the PDL will vary. For example, most Universal Print ready printers use either PDF or PWG-Raster.
- If its PDF, then Windows uses the same renderer that is used by Microsoft Print to PDF. You can try printing the same file to PDF and then see if PDF looks good.
- Print job uploads in Universal Print service. If upload is successful, then you will be able to see the job under Jobs view of the printer on Universal Print portal. If the job is in Jobs view then Universal Print is not the culprit 😉 as Universal Print does not do anything with the job payload.
- Print job is then downloaded by the printer and printed.
I would start by looking at the spooled file as I described above and then PDF. If both are fine, then you should reach out to the printer vendor and ask them to check the issue. You can also start with Microsoft to look into the data and ensure my hypothesis above is correct.

Once the option is enabled, follow steps:
- Go to folder: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Rename the *.spl file to *.oxps
- Get the XPS viewer (optional Windows feature). Use steps here - XPS viewer - Microsoft Community
- Open the OXPS file
