Webinar Recordings Saving to Random Attendee's OneDrive
- Jan 31, 2024
Got a final reply to my ticket this morning. Unfortunately, it's not great news.
The backend team have confirmed the reported issue is a known issue. However, the architectural design of teams is going to be changed in future as the plan is in progress to change this behavior and store the recordings under the organizer's OneDrive.
However, we cannot provide and ETA for that.
The Microsoft will release its official article once this has been implemented.
It appears to be happening with our Webinars. Random attendees find the webinar recording in their OneDrive and we have to request they approve access so we can move it.
This is obviously an issue and requires Microsoft to fix but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions in the meantime, it will be appreciated.

You are not alone!
For private teams meetings, the first person to join is automatically assigned as the meeting owner, if they are from the same organization as the one hosting the meeting.
The bug with webinaire may be linked to this. It can make sens for private teams meeting to record on the first people in the meeting. But it doesn't for webinaire.
Also, perhaps MS cannot reproduce the bug with you because you are not in the same organisation.
