MS Teams Connector end of support clarification
- Jul 21, 2024
timothyrich - The recent announcement regarding the end of support for Teams connectors specifically mentions the retirement of Office 365 connectors within Microsoft Teams. This change will affect connectors that post content and service updates directly from third-party services into a Teams channel. The retirement process will occur in two waves, with new connector creation being blocked starting August 15th, 2024, and all connectors ceasing to function by October 1st, 2024. Microsoft recommends transitioning to Power Automate workflows as a more scalable, flexible, and secure solution to relay information into and out of Teams.

To address your questions:
- The tab apps will continue to function, but any connector functionality within those apps that posts updates to channels or conversations will be affected.
- The announcement does not provide details on the use of the share URL to post into channels. However, if this functionality relies on Office 365 connectors, it may be impacted by the retirement.
