Is there a way to put a link on the left side menu to open a URL in the default browser?

Is it possible to put a link on the left side menu that will load externally, ideally in the default web browser? We want to load SharePoint from Teams, but we're not sure about the UX... some links ...

RockyABT - Can you please confirm if you are developing any Teams application? By left side menu do you mean the Teams Left navigation bar?

I'm not sure what you mean by developing any Teams application. I can if I need to to solve this problem. 

 

And yes, I would like a button on the Teams Left Navigation Bar that opens a URL in the system default browser.
