Screen Flicker Surface Pro 2

This is an ultimately annoying problem that seems to be somewhat universal with these devices, which makes me wonder why Microsoft has not come out with a patch or work around.  Clearly, Microsoft's willingness to replace newer models under warrantee with this problem indicates the issue is well documented and self inflicted.  I need a fix!!!
