Is Windows Surface Pro 7+ monitor DDC/CI capable / enabled?

Hello!

I am trying to change the monitor brightness via the API "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/highlevelmonitorconfigurationapi/nf-highlevelmonitorconfigurationapi-setmonitorbrightness".

On all of my test devices with external monitors, this works fine.

However, it does not work on all of my 20 Surface Pro 7+ computers.
The error is "An error occurred while transmitting data to the device on the I2C bus."

Somebody suggested that the problem might be that the Surface Pro 7+ monitor is not DDC/CI enabled / capable.

Can somebody from Microsoft confirm this?
