Surface laptop 3 blank screen

Surface laptop starts up with white windows logo then goes blank. if i attatch a second screen, that screen is fine, the laptop is running but no laptop screen. BUT as i said yo can see the win LOGO on first boot. So screen is ok... any ideas?
