MS Surface keyboard issue

Hello, I have a Surface Pro with a detachable keyboard. It works fine; however, the keyboard covering is peeling and  flaring. Is this normal when the keyboard starts to age? I am including a picture...

There Various skins and covers that can overlay on top of the surface check amazon and or ebay

    Thanks again! I checked out a few. Some of them are really nice, but they are either for the tablet component (display) or for the keys, not the entire keyboard. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to provide this idea. Saga
