Display problems with Surface 1872
Slight edit, I am now using a different monitor and that works, so does the touchscreen ... surely it's nigh on impossible to try 2 different laptop screens, both of which have working touchscreen but no display ?!?
Is there something strange about the Surface 1872 whereas the screen display only works if the laptop is fully assembled ?!?
Just in case this is of any help to somebody in the future ...
1) My screen supplier said "Working on external video doesn’t prove anything as it’s a different circuit to the internal video"
2) The problem, apparently, is because I disconnected the screen without disconnecting the battery first and this has blown something on the motherboard that has rendered the whole device irreparable !!! However, the battery is virtually impossible to remove in order to disconnect it, but (again apparently. because it's not anything I can test) if I had removed the Hard Drive, that would have effectively disconnected the battery and I would have had none of these (very expensive) problems !!!
Whoever designed this POS you should hang your head in shame !!!
