Does the Surface Hub 2S have a Replacement PC mode like the Surface Hub 1?
On the original Surface Hub, there is a https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-hub/connect-and-display-with-surface-hub#replacement-pc-mode with a physical switch that allows bypassing the embedded computer and essentially using the Hub as a touchscreen for an external computer.
The Surface Hub 2S can accept HDMI video input, but TouchBack and InkBack seems to work only through the Connect app on the embedded computer and does not work if I switch the display input to HDMI. The external computer can detect the touchscreen in Device Manager and the UI in Windows switch to touch mode, yet nothing works.
To make matters worse, the Connect app cannot display the full 3840 x 2560 resolution without resizing the HDMI input.
Has anyone tried this? How does this work? Or does the Surface Hub 2S lack this important feature?

Hello madelena,
Surface Hub 2S replacement PC mode has been replaced with the possibility to install a full Windows 10/11 Pro or Enterprise Edition without the need of an external PC.
Also, the resize of the image in the Connect app is due to a different screen format. Surface Hub 2S 50" has an aspect ratio of 3:2 (16:9 for 85") which will have to match the source aspect ratio. If this is not the case, you can use the "extend" or "second screen only" options in the project menu (Win + P).
Hope this helps
