Does hub allow for synchronized white boarding?
- Dec 14, 2016
This is the most common user feedback.. Today there are no capabilities within the whiteboard to do CO-Annontation. However there are several great apps in the store that provide this fucntionality (Mural, headcandy, Stormboard, collaboard) along with a great html 5 app from www.limnu.com ... Co-Annontation is also a top priority in the feature list.

I mentioned Stormboard, amongst a few others in my previous comments.
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be getting any traction. I'm not sure if this is the Surface Hub group thinking that Skype for Business will develop this capability more, and they'll tackle it once they're done. Or if they feel they need Skype for Business to be the solution, not the Surface Hub piece on it's own.
Either way, we need to know Microsoft's roadmap (regardless of siloed product groups) of how a collaborative space like this is going to move forward - not unique to a) skype for business whiteboard b) surface hub whiteboard or c) a full tilt client of OneNote whiteboard that would be collaborative and same capabilities (and colloboratively viewed/synced) at the same time.
Every time I hear this question or a request for feature come up, Microsoft rep(s) confirm that it is the most asked-for feature, but no action seems to be coming up. Can we get a response and some traction on this please, MS?

I brought this up last fall with our Microsoft support team when we got our first 2 (of 10) surface hubs (55" and 84"). They also said it was on the road map.
If the issue is which team will implement something - I think the Skype team won't be it (given the direction is to integrate Skype into Teams).
3rd party solutions aren't really great - not when each individual user has to logon to the hub using the 3rd party credentials (on each hub). I have shared a laptops screen via the mirracast (Windows-K) and controlled the apps on the laptop from the hub - but I don't know (haven't tried) to see if the person on the remote hub can also update - I don't think so (given the hub is presenting the screen so the other folks can see).
It would be better if Microsoft would get the product teams together to figure this out and come up with a native solutions.
We also have a handful of a competitors boards and they have this capability between their boards and their PC client. Their boards are less expensive to acquire (CapEX), but have a huge monthly subscription cost (OpEx). The Surface Hub after about 20 months breaks even and then the costs are better (even with a monthly cost for a O365 license for the hub).

It looks like they have put something together.
I just would love if it was available to regular SP3 or other penabled device users.
