signing in to Skype for business from Polycom RealPresence Trio 8800

I can sign-in to my O365 account on Polycom RealPresence Trio 8800 from public Internet, however, on corporate network (behind the firewall) sign-in process never ends (waited like for 20 minutes). At the same time, all users in the office can sign in to their SfB on their desktops and laptops which are also behind the firewall, so I don't think this is firewall issue.

What could be wrong with my corporate network that doesn't allow me to sign in to SfB?

  • Two potential issues here:

    First if your network employs a web proxy to protect outbound TCP 443 traffic then you'll need to allow an exception in the proxy server for the Trio's MAC address as it does not currently support passing credentials to web proxies.

    Second is that something is misconfigured in terms of Lyncdiscover and/or legacy SRV/A DNS records and the Trio is not being correctly directed to SfB Online during the server discovery process.  To test this you'll need to set the follow three parameters:

    reg.1.serverAutoDiscovery="0"
    reg.1.server.1.address="sipfed.online.lync.com"
    reg.1.server.1.port="443"

      Jeff, thanks a lot for your reply.

      I think it is the second, somwthing related to DNS. So I want to test with the settings you've provided.

      But failed to locate these settings in web interface of RealPresence Trio 8800.

      Could you please clarify where I should enter these settings?

      withing the corporate network I've tried both adam@contoso.com and adam@contoso.onmicrosoft.com. Didn't work. However, when on public network, I can sign-in to SfB using adam@contoso.com

        Just got my new Trio 8800 and i am having the same issue but with logons that use the .onmicrosoft.com UPN. All users on my federated domain work fine, I do have modern authentication enabled for Skype and Exchange on my tenant, but as i said my federated user ids work so I'm not sure that is the issue. Anyone have any ideas why the .onmicrosoft.com domain doesn't work on a fully patched trio 8800? I have enabled debug and i see that the phone doesn't seem to be able to find where to get its auth ticket from, I have also tried hardcoding the discovery as per the mention in this thread. Any help or ideas are appreciated. I have attached debug logs to this post. Thanks again.
