Check spelling not working in Skype for Business 2016
We rolled out Skype for Business 2016 to our users and all our users have Office 2013 MSI installed. The spell check option is enabled for IM but is not working in Skype. However, it does work on some of our machines. What setting do we need to check to get spell check enabled for our users?

I think that you are missing the language pack for Office 2016 and therefore Skype can't spell check. Download the ISO from Microsoft https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/DeployOffice/office2016/customize-language-setup-and-settings-for-office-2016#DownloadLIPandProofTools
When you have installed the LIP Skype will use the language pack based on your current keyboard settings in Windows, so you might need many different LIPs of you use many different keyboard layouts.
If you been using Office 2016 or C2R you wouldn't have this problem.
