Recover my email

I have an old hotmail email that I need to access. When I go through the process of recovering the email, it says i dont have enough information for them to approve. Im looking for any way to contact an actual person from Microsoft to help me access this email.

  • Sorry you're hitting this wall. There isn't a person to reach, Microsoft account recovery is fully automated by design, and support agents can't manually verify identity, override a failed form, or change security info on an account you can't sign into. If you reach someone via chat or callback, they'll send you back to the same form. That restriction is what keeps someone else from talking their way into your mailbox.

Before you try again, rule out one thing: if nobody has signed into that account in over two years, Microsoft closes it for inactivity and the recovery form can never succeed, regardless of what you enter. That would explain the repeated "not enough information" result on an older address. If it hasn't been that long, you get two form submissions per 24 hours, wrong guesses don't count against you, and submitting from a device and network you previously used with the account meaningfully improves your odds.
