Windows Update vs Microsoft Update for SharePoint updates

You either have to set the server to not autoupdate at all, or use a tool like WSUS so you can exclude certain update categories.

I do not recommend using MU/WU for SharePoint updates at all.

    That is exactly how I see it. Thought I'm missing something.

    They should not include SP updates in MU/WU.

      Technically I agree with you, but all security updates must be pushed through WU/MU. They just need to be controlled.
