Will SharePoint 2019 get feature updates?

I have heard conflicting reports on whether SP2019 will get any future features or if it will only have general patches. i.e. if a feature is added in SPO, will it potentially come to SP2019 eventually? I realize not all features would be possible to replicate to on-premise, but if SP2019 will not get any updates at all then it's a moot point.

    Unfortunately the only thing we know today is that the product team will continue releasing cumulative updates for the platform month by month, but we don't have any news in regards of getting updates in the platform

      I agree, SharePoint 2016 was supposed to be the last version of on-premise as its "Core" was the same as O365 and they were going to push all features to it.

       

      The only modern thing on prem 2016 got was SPFx webparts.... SharePoint 2019 has modern sites but no sign of hub sites. Its a guessing game :).
