Term Store navigation

Investigating how I can easily find/search/navigate using tags.
Tags = metadata column / term store

2 Approaches tried:

  • Wiki Library
    • I have a Tree View hierarchy on my site's navigation that lists tags in a hierarchy.
    • However, clicking on a tag always just takes me to the home page, even though there does appear to be a unique parameter in the querystring e.g. https://xxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/xxxxxx/EDP%20Wiki/Home.aspx
      ?TreeField=Tags&TreeValue=02ad8516%2D6317%2D4b08%2D992c%2D774b271967a3
  • Site Pages
    • Tree View refuses to display for pages.
    • Have followed several online articles about web parts, but still struggling to find a way of displaying a clickable inventory of my tags.

Basic requirements :
- Tag Pages
- Auto Index/List of tags
- Easy for uses to select a tag and see relevant results

I would be very grateful for guidance here.

Thanks

  • Hello simb_2023

a term store navigation with all the hierarchy it's not so simple and not possible with default settings or functions.

You can use PnP Modern Search ( https://microsoft-search.github.io/pnp-modern-search/usage/search-filters/?WT.mc_id=DX-MVP-5004845 ) and use the Filter WebPart as Navigation, it's not hierarchical, but they will use the tags from your pages and will appear in the filter after the index. It's easy to use and will show all the relevant items, pages or documents with the same tagging.

    Best, Dave
