Syncing folders
I have one sharepoint sync for my private use which a few members has access to. I have now created a communication site which includes syncing of files - some of them belongs to my "private" sync. ...

Jun 12, 2018Yes it's possible. Are you using OD4B sync client. It stores information in three tier architecture on your local PC one for OD4B personal, OD4B Business and SharePoint libraries. You can have private information files/folders in both OD4B files and communication site and sync from both locations simultaneously. Once synced to local you can also share it from both the locations.

Yes I am.
Place 1: Syncing my private files to me and couple of people
Place 2: Syncing files for everyone
Some of the files in place 1 has to be synced to place 2 as well and vice versa. How to you set this sharing/syncing up then?
If I have been working on a file in place 1, I have to manually copy the updated file to place 2.

A couple of comments:
- What do you mean exactly with "private" files?
- If some files are truly "private", they belong to your ODfB, not to a SharePoint library. From ODfB, if you want, you can share them anyway with a few other users in your organization.
- If some of these files need also to be shared with everyone in the organization, they are by no means "private" and, in this case, they really belong to a SharePoint library to which everyone has access.
Just my two cents...

I have a group called DKFU, and I have a group called DKFU/FAU
When syncing I get two folders, one for each.
Some of the same files are in both DKFU and DKFU/FAU. When I sync files in DKFU, I want that very same file to be synced to DKFU/FAU as well.- DeletedJun 13, 2018
As Salvatore suggested restructuring would be best option.
If you are fine with links in one location You can try Link to document content type or use the feature send to location in the document library files tab if you have just one file to maintain in both the locations.
