Sites: Classic-Modern Odysee
created a few sites in the last days.
very confusing: Teamsites, Groups, Teams... gosh... what is your concept behind all this?
does innovation looks like that?
and once, a site in SP is create, still very confusing as part of the site will switch to modern automatically.
what to do?

- My two cents in some of your questions (please, for the next time try to post them in just one message):
(1) Create lists in classic / modern UI: Microsoft is modernizing SPO UX so at some in the future I hink modern UI will be the standard. For now you have the choice to use classic or modern UI. As you are sulely aware of, modern UI is currently only available in custom lists...all the other list types in SPO are using the classic UI.
(2) You should be able to sync a contact list to Outlook...just bear in mind you will need to have Outloolk 2013 / Outlook 2016 and you should be ready to go. I have just reviewed I can sync Calendar / Tasks lists to Outlook in my SPO sites
(3) The switch back to classic is because not all the classic settings are modernized yet so you have the choice always to go back to classic just in case you need to use them
(4) For copy & paste information in lists in both classic and modern UI use just the Quick Edit option
(5) Browser to use...it has been always in that way...there are some features that only works with IE such the Export to Excel action or the Open with explorer...but this has been always in this way
- how can we copy/paste data in classic lists, like in the good old days?
- why is a shrarepoiont site switching from classic to modern and back? very confusing behavior of the left pane...
- why are contact lists (apps) not working with outlook anymore?
- so, what are the right cases to create a modern or a classic list? why are functions like sync with access/excel not working anymore with classic lists=
