If you have SP 2013 and SP 2010 then they will be in two different SharePoint farms. It isn't possible to joined different SharePoint versions into a single farm.
There is an upgrade path where you can migrate you content databases from SP2010 to SP2013. Before you do this you need to check to see if any third-party solutions are deployed into the SP2010 farm.
