I have started a list that contains columns for 'People or Groups'. there may be instances where the person I want to add to this column is not in the company data base, so they will not come up. I...
What happens with a list item where a person (or group) has been (correctly) referenced and this person left the company (has no more O365 license and cannot be found in the directory any more)?
In that case there would be no problem, unless you wanted to edit that list item in the future - then when you try to save, it will see the value as invalid.
