SharePoint Discussion Board Settings Post/Reply Pre-Approval

New to SharePoint. I'm trying to create some discussion boards on a SharePoint site to allow colleagues in my company an opportunity to take part in some conversations about diversity and contributing to a positive and respectful workplace. 

I'm wondering if there is a way to set up each discussion thread so that I am notified when someone responds AND make it so that I need to approve responses before they are made live to each discussion board.
