Sharepoint App News Refresh not working

In a SharePoint app instance running on an iPad, the news page can be refreshed by pulling down the news list. Upon initiating the refresh, a loading indicator briefly appears at the top of the page. However, even after the refresh process is complete, new news articles are not displayed, despite being visible on the PC browser.
