On-Premises Data Gateway to SharePoint web application with multiple authentication providers

When I activate multiple authentication providers on a SharePoint on-premises web application the data gateway fails to connect. The SharePoint log shows an UnauthorizedAccessException.

Removing the identity provider resolves this issue.

Does the on-premises gateway support SharePoint web applications with multiple authentication providers?
